Belt Kit Installation Guide
NEVER USE A HAMMER ON ANYTHING WHEN INSTALLING THIS KIT.
Please note that damage from improper installation will not be covered in any way. Be sure to read through this carefully.
If you only see one thing from this guide, make sure you put your front pulley on properly. There should be about 1mm of shaft sticking out(shown below) when you use the provided flat washer and nylon nut like this:
Be sure to use the paint marker to draw a line across the shaft and nut and check it before each ride to make sure the nut hasn't moved at all.

3D Printed Plastic Pulley Sprocket Installation
V2 belt rolling on is more difficult. Make sure to only put a little bit of the belt on at a time and don't let it get snagged on the bolts from the pulley. It should roll on smoothly with moderate force.
Plastic Rear Pulley

Plastic Rear Pulley: Creaking Noise
If your plastic pulley is making a creaking noise at low rpm feel free to add a little bit of biodegradable oil such as cocoanut oil to the bottom of the rear pulley in between the belt and the rear pulley. Free spin the motor at low rpm until the noise goes away. If the creaking noise is still there feel free to add a tad more and repeat until the noise goes away.
Rear Pulley
Wobbles While Rotating
If your rear pulley wobbles, tighten the bolts. One might be loose. See this video for guidance.
Rubbing on Frame
Should you notice your rear pulley making contact with the frame, it is typically attributable to one of two potential causes:
Bent Bash Guard or Chain Cover Mounts: If your bash guard or chain cover mounts appear to be bent and are making contact with the rear pulley, a straightforward solution is to carefully realign the mount or bash guard to its original position.
Axle Spacing: It's possible the axle requires an additional washer. By placing this washer inside the frame, you can effectively distance the pulley from the frame, preventing any unwanted contact.
Front Pulley Tolerances
The front pulley tolerances are tight to prevent wear from regen. Refer to the installation video for correct installation. Proper front pulley installation is key. Damage from improper front pulley installation will not be covered in any way.
V1 vs V2
V1 and V2 kits have similar steps. However there is a difference in clearances as shown below:
Front Pulley Tips and Advice
For better leverage during installation, wrap the belt around the pulley as shown in the installation video.
Be extremely careful not to ruin your shaft threads while installing your front pulley. If you find yourself applying too much force make sure you have the pulley in the proper orientation(line up the flat parts). If the pulley still doesn't fit, clean the shaft. If it still doesn't fit, inspect for wear marks to identify tight areas. Smooth out these areas gently with sandpaper or the included file, but be cautious not to remove too much, focusing only on bumps or burrs.
Verify
Ensure the V1 or V2 pulley is correctly positioned before riding. There should be approximately 2 mm space between the motor shaft top and the pulley. Don't be afraid to take the reverse threaded nut and 8mm washer off to inspect. See the picture below and this video for a reference.
Note that the shaft sticks up slightly from the nut when the washer is installed below the nut:

Belt Tension
Improper belt tension symptoms
Too Low
Skipping: Insufficient tension may lead to belt skipping, misalignment, and decreased power transmission efficiency.
Wear: Accelerated wear on the belt and pulleys due to the lack of appropriate friction and slippage.
Too High
Snapping: Over-tensioning increases the risk of the belt snapping, particularly under high loads.
Noise & Heat: Excessive tension induces unwanted noise and generates extra heat due to increased friction, potentially affecting the belt’s lifespan and integrity.
Stock Swing Arms
Custom/Aftermarket Swing Arms
For bikes with custom/after market swing arms we include a belt tension gauge along with your kit for optimal belt tension(between 30 and 50 kilos). See the Krikit product page for how to use it.
Clicking Noises
If you hear a clicking noise from your front pulley, it might be due to:
Low Belt Tension
If the belt is too loose, it could skip on the front pulley.
For slotted rear axles, adjust the axle backwards.
For custom swing arms, you may need to get creative or get a smaller belt.

Or, A Loose Front Pulley
If the pulley isn't fully seated, it might knock against the shaft. This requires urgent attention.
Remove the belt and pulley to check for damage.
If there's minimal wear, reattach the pulley, ensuring the nut is tightened securely(as mentioned above). Consider using thread locker to prevent loosening.
Belt Alignment
If your belt constantly shifts to the edges of the front pulley, it might be due to motor misalignment.
This issue is uncommon for stock swing arms. If you're using a stock swing arm and face this problem, please contact us before making adjustments. For those with custom swing arms, the misalignment might cause the belt to attempt to run off the pulley. Excessive belt wear, such heat, rubbing noises, or frayed edges that seem to be getting worse is a clear sign of this.
Solution
Adjusting the Motor: Remove the belt and loosen the motor bolts. If the belt is rubbing on the outside, move the front (shaft side) away from the rear axle and the rear closer to the axle. If it's rubbing on the inside, do the opposite.
Reinstallation: Tighten the motor bolts and reinstall the belt. This should help center the belt. The belt may still favor one side but shouldn't exhibit excessive wear, such as heat, rubbing noises, or frayed edges.
Further Adjustments
If the issue remains, you might need to file down the motor mounts. But remember:
Over-filing can lead to new complications.
Do not file stock swing arms. Contact us before considering this option.
Always file in the correct direction. If you file to move the motor away from the axle, it might shift back under heavy loads, especially with V2 level of power. Always file towards the axle for the best long term results.
